| SALES OF WATER EMISSION CAR TOYOTA MIRAI START IN JAPAN |
| The Toyota Mirai FCV is a Hybrid Hydrogen fuel cell vehicle and is one
of the first hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles to be sold commercially. The sedan
is scheduled to be available to Japanese buyers for use in Japanese roads
only. The vehicle's size will be similar to the New Toyota Camry. The Toyota Japan has dedicated 20 years to the research and development of hydrogen fuel cell technology for use in automobile. Toyota Motor Corporation believe that this is the way forward, not only for the automobile industry in the world but for all humankind on the earth. The need for an alternative to fossil fuel is real. And in time, hydrogen will be our most sustainable option. Not only because hydrogen can be produced from renewable like solar and wind but also because the only emission from the tailpipe is water vapor. So what was once seen as a pipe dream now has more potential than ever. It is a vehicle equipped with a “Fuel Cell” that generates electricity through the chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen to power the motor driving the vehicle. Hydrogen, which replaces gasoline as fuel, is an environment-friendly energy source that can be produced from various raw materials. Toyota has also made use of hybrid vehicle core technology in the development of this vehicle. From the early stages of their effort to make “Sustainable Mobility” a reality, Toyota has start production of world’s first limited sale in Japan for the “Toyota FCHV” as an ideal vehicle. Toyota has made concrete achievements in Fuel Cell Vehicle development. However, at the beginning this car is for sale in Japan's domestic market only. Since Toyota has already post many filling stations within Japan, driving in domestic roads is not a problem. But import in other countries out of Japan is STRICTLY not wise due to fuel filling problem and other technical issues may arise in coming years. At present, this car is not available for export.
